i probably could've added this to my rant but...

 

why have you just not shut down the game already? you're not making a profit since nobody buys plat anymore, plus the game averages 1-5 players each day, so there's no reason to keep it online, because it just means more people will make negative reviews and your reputation will drop through the floor

 

plus, if you shut down the game, you won't have to pay for the servers, so you'll have more money for other things

That's about right for concurrent players connected, but we still see 50~100 logins a day.  More people still play on average on any given day now than did for the first couple years of the game being publicly available in the very early days.  There was a bug long ago where more than three players connected would crash the server, and it took years to find since that never happened until 2011/2012.

 

Eventually I expect even fewer will play, but I'll continue to keep it running.  It's still fun as a primarily single player experience for people to enjoy.  And if folks want to coordinate times to play together, that's still something they can do.
