swaggerton messaged me last night saying he was experiencing the exact same thing on the browser version. I don't think it's just you.
I get that message when I try to run the game on Firefox. But on Internet Explorer (eww) it runs just fine. So it could be your browser settings maybe.
Still doing the hand thing.

Hello matey, I experienced the same problem today with Chrome. After some googling I found out that Chrome no longer supports Java.
You should ask your dad if you are allowed to download the desktop edition or you can switch to another browser.
If you cannot download the desktop edition or use a different browser for some reason there is still a way to enable java on Chrome. But I don't know what effect it has on Chrome or on your PC as I don't know much about stuff like this. So you should ask your dad before doing this.
-Copy this in your URL bar and press enter: chrome: //flags/#enable-npapi
-It will give you a list of stuff and something called NPAPI is highlighted.
-Click on enable right under that.
-Restart your browser and it should work.
Good luck, I hope you will be able to play 8bitMMO again
edit: For some reason this forum deletes the command..?, Copy it but remove the spacebar between chrome: and //flags

Okay, thanks. I might try that, but my brother says his computer has updated java, so I could possibly play 8bitmmo on his computer. (but I'd have to play less because he hogs it most of the day)

1.re-download Java(If you dont want to then dont, its up to you)
2.type "about:plugins" in the address bar then find Java then Enable it(if it says Disable then its already enabled
3.Then just click the always enable box so you wont encounter the problem again
Do those steps so you wont have to play with IE *shivers*

Hey Matey i was experiencing the same problem when using chrome but i fixed it by myself just do these steps :
1.re-download Java(If you dont want to then dont, its up to you)
2.type "about:plugins" in the address bar then find Java then Enable it(if it says Disable then its already enabled
3.Then just click the always enable box so you wont encounter the problem again
Do those steps so you wont have to play with IE *shivers*
That probably won't work because it's Chrome that's the problem, not Java. Because, Google (weirdos) stopped making Chrome support Java, so....

Let's see....*LegoBox quietly facepalms in the corner, while sighing that Jason is lucky that there isn't a dislike button.
Firefox IS better than IE (because what isn't?)
Firefox doesn't use as much RAM as chrome
Firefox doesn't put ads everywhere
And Firefox accepts Java, unity, and all the other plugins chrome doesn't support
