I had an idea, TOWN TICKETS!
You'd have, say, a meter that fills 1/10 of the way up every time someone besides the mayor spends one minute in your town. When the meter fills, you get a town ticket, an untradeable currency that could be used to purchase things like citizen-only doors, reward blocks, and maybe even some clothing and blocks not available any other way. This would be a way to reward well-made towns and in-game events and allow free players to get normally plat-only items for making nice towns.
Not my usual wall of text, but it would be cool if this was implemented.
This is a great idea but! What if someone goes afk in your town so they can rack up town tickets?

The town tickets go to the mayor of the town not the person spending time in that town

then comes the escalating problem of players making multiple alts, maybe some one with 3 computers can get 3 alts to sit in his town while he racks the tickets up! I do think this is a pretty good idea, can be made better. Its a good way of rewarding good towns that normally may not make much profit

Only if used to get more gold and such, but yes using alts for that would be a bannable offense, although SnarkySnickers's idea seems to fix the problem madman pointed outPretty sure alts are a bannable offense anyways.

Liking the idea, yeah players do need more incentives for creating towns maybe in the form of some sort of town xp/currency

Or get tickets then make quests.
What I'm saying is, as soon as you make a quest, you would get tonnes of tickets, because many people would be in your town for a few minutes. And since towns and quests both cost plat technically speaking (I know you can get them with gold, but many noobs don't seem to understand this...) people would complain that the game is overly p2w.
People like to scream p2w whenever something requires either A. Effort or B. In game purchases
