I'm assuming the cause of this is the frame system the game uses for animated and "toggle-able" stuff.
This is pretty similar looking to the old DGR and GR pick-up bug.

how exactly do u get red pumpkins? also when u place it does it place it all or just 1?

the bug is that you can see all the frames. Pumpkins only explode if you're unlucky when you activate them

Yeah that's all it shows. I did have a little heart attack and thought the pumpkins were goner.
i am still wondering wat happens when u place it. does it place all 4(since they are stuck together) or just 1

It also changes the fake floors to look like concrete blocks. They confused me the first time I put them in the box. So far those 2 are the only one who's art changes when put in boxes

And the 4 things stuck together are called FRAMES. You learned something.

Side note, for those who didn't know~ Red pumpkins (ones about to explode) will explode immediately if you try and pick them up while exploding, so they cannot be stored.... tick tick tick.......

my goodness. i thought that the 4 pumpkins were showing 4 different pumpkins that kyro owned. i placed a pumpkin in a box and it turned into that as well. so the 4pumpkins only symbolize 1 pumpkin not 4 different ones

(facepalm) You're an idiot. The "4 pumpkins" are the PUMPKIN'S FRAMES FFS! How many times have I said this? The pumpkin has 4 frames - off, on, on2 (on and on2 are animations), explode
off is visible when the pumpkin is not turned on (so, unlit).
on and on2 are an animation when the pumpkin is lit. Every half a second or a second it cycles through these two frames to create the flickering effect visible with the pumpkin. This is when you press e at the pumpkin.
explode is visible when you try to light the pumpkin but you hit the small chance of blowing it up. when the pumpkin blows up it and disappears.
The 4 frames don't have names so I named them as appropriate for this definition.
