Most players have poor or mediocre PvP skills, and for many becoming a good PvPer seems like it's out of their reach. I hope that with this guide many of you can become not only better, but excellent PvPers.

First off: healing from you inventory, how it's done.

VsUuPIO.png

Although disallowed in some competitions and duels, healing is an essential tool in pvp and will likely save your hide several times in the future on your journey to improved pvping, and it's also very easy to do! Simply right click food (I prefer chicken :P) in your inventory when you aren't at full health and voila: instant +3. You do have to wait 2/3-ish seconds after healing once to do it again.

Second: Different weapons and when to use them.

Although many pvpers like to specialize with just one weapon, I prefer the multi-weapon pvp style (first introduced to me by TheGreatOnion). This style of pvp is much like rock-paper-scissors, except it's Sword-Hammer-Guns, hammer is good against sword because you have to get close to a player to attack with a sword, thus being vulnerable to the hammer's area of effect. Guns are good against hammer because they can hit the hammer-er from outside the area of effect while he's frozen in place. Sword against guns takes a bit more practice, though (hence why many pvpers like to specialize with guns) with a sword you're free to move about as you please so you can dodge the shots from a gun, however it's also usually very difficult to get close to a gunner (you can also use guns against gunners :P). Often times you'll encounter someone else who uses this method, so it's important to be able to switch your weapons, which you can do simply by clicking on them in your inventory.

And that brings us to the third rule of pvp: Never charge a gunner head-on.

As you probably know, guns can only fire in straight directions, so you have to come at a gun-user from an angle or zig-zag at them, otherwise you're vulnerable to their gun (and will probably die in like 5 seconds)

Finally: Preparing your inventory for PvP.

This is probably the most important thing you can do for pvp, as switching between weapons and healing is very difficult when you have your inventory blocking your screen or you need to search through your inventory to find chicken/weapons. This is pretty simple. Before the pvp starts just put all your stuff in a box (or place it somewhere) besides your weapons and chicken, then click on the bar at the top of your inventory that says "inventory" and drag the inventory window to the lower left corner of your screen so all you can see are your weapons and chicken, it should look a bit like this:

That way you can easily switch weapons and heal at anytime without having to worry about you inventory being in the way of your screen.

And before I wrap things up I'd like to add one more thing: If you're using a laser rifle you must have the game's (and your computer's) sound on. This is because the laser rifle is a charge weapon and if you overcharge it, it explodes, and the only way to know when you need to shoot is by the sound the laser rifle makes. It will make a kind of "vibrating" noise when it's charged enough to shoot, which will get progressively faster the more charged it is, and will then make a noticeably different noise when it's about to explode. You can enable/disable the game's sound in Menu > Options.

Congratulations on reading my entire guide to PvP! I hope this helps you a lot and that there will be many more challenging pvpers I'll have to face in future Shadow Games!

I don't recall you beating me 90% of the time, and come to think of it I don't really recall pvping you that much. Plus if it wasn't a 1v1 or in Shadow Games, I probably wasn't really trying to win :P.

That's called having a selective memory.

That's called having a selective memory.

It may help if you reminded me. Plus as stated previously it was more than likely casual pvp which doesn't tend to be very memorable.

The Rare White Diamond Sword is the true essence of combat. The predecessors of this blade forged great weapons of destruction from the hirokane ores of hell, its metals cooled and purified upon the great spring upon Mt. Hakurei. They spoke of a light so blinding, an utterance of its majesty will cut the tongues of the wretched. To embody this power, they created a vessel with which to channel its energies. The goal of this benevolent blade is to silence the youkai who dwell among us, wearing human skins to deceive the innocent and lead them down the path of treachery. Do not spread these false truths upon this world, there is only one truth. The Rare White Diamond sword embodies this truth. You have no right to spread these poisonous words, cease this heresy or your soul will know no peace.
