Hey guys hope everyone is doing well.

Listen I've been looking at the Steam reviews and though a lot of them are upright rude some of them bring up really good points.

A lot of complaints I'm hearing is that the MMO aspect isn't being reached and I can see that.

I've seen a few talk about gameplay and not much explained about building with Z Axis which honestly does take time to learn.

Several reviews talk about ugly buildings and messy towns, we got to spruce up our places a bit more give it that A+ effort.

Last and this review hurt me a bit because I know its not true is "the community sucks and only has happy people who have paid to play".

Now I think I have a few ideas that don't require a lot of effort on everyone's part if we work together.

1. We need to find a way to make a progressive story line for new players that does teach on z axis and the pocket town

2. I've emptied a lot of my old lots in Noobis to welcome new players on how to play and build their house for free obviously. I'll also be looking for other new players to go when I'm not on or become to full.

3. We should start trying to make events like races, PvE timed fights, even building races.

4. Personally it would be cool to add jobs that mayors issue to have goals for towns to reach, for example there is a new town and they need more grass, so mayor makes a job with a set amount of gold for whoever completes the job or a prize.

5. We need to most importantly work together, I know if we can work through this we can make 8BitMMO an experience people will remember and hopefully bring those Steam reviews around!tumblr_mwxxty1wVV1qfa1jdo1_500.gif

Most of the steam reviewers are liars, trolls or just plain retarded.

I got bored of reading them after leaving comments on a few of them.

A lot of complaints I'm hearing is that the MMO aspect isn't being reached and I can see that.

what exactly does that mean? how is this game not MMO, we have consistantly had 200 people online for the past week

I've seen a few talk about gameplay and not much explained about building with Z Axis which honestly does take time to learn.

1. We need to find a way to make a progressive story line for new players that does teach on z axis and the pocket town

I have agreed that the Draco building tutorial needs a reworking and an expanding

Several reviews talk about ugly buildings and messy towns, we got to spruce up our places a bit more give it that A+ effort.

3. We should start trying to make events like races, PvE timed fights, even building races.

4. Personally it would be cool to add jobs that mayors issue to have goals for towns to reach, for example there is a new town and they need more grass, so mayor makes a job with a set amount of gold for whoever completes the job or a prize.

there is only so much that can be done about the games build quality, not every player is an artist or designer, and we are also living on the remains of nearly 3 years now of dead players and their constructs

3. shcky just made /tele moo raceway, pretty sure thats transponders, that could be cool, but most players dont build well in a rush

4. thats an interesting concept, it seems like it could be a combination of the existing quest system and something new, maybe a new block or even a NPC that can be created by the mayor and given instructions and a reward

this could also address the issue i have seen of players complaining about the quality of the player made quests

Last and this review hurt me a bit because I know its not true is "the community sucks and only has happy people who have paid to play".

this hurts me too, i played for 6months without paying, and even if i hadent decided to support robbyz i would still be playing, the core of this issue is the micro transaction system.  the majority of players dont/cant understand that this game took time, money and effort to produce, and that it is completely reasonable to ask players to pay for that, no one who buys COD complains about the price in-game, because the cost was upfront, but if the game is labeled as "FREE" then players default to thinking that the game was made entirely for them for free, and that the developer has therefore forfeited any right to profit from the game.  this mentality is completely selfish and illogical, and stems from the entitled children who believe the world is theirs to exploit.

I hope other people read the amount of time played so they know these are unreliable reviews

the most popular negativ reviews on steam are very lenghty rants by players with less than 2 hours played, usually less than 1

I know right? I thought there was a rule on steam that you had to have at least 0.5 hours on a game to review it. Sigh I know its not steam but a lot of people that use it should just go back to DOTA or Counter Strike.

I think the game just needs to be more appealing from the start cause most of the good stuff in the game is available only later on in the game. Most of the noobs just get bored that they cant beat the hipster quest, or that Sir zombie brains quests are too hard. If the game was more appealing at the start the noobs would be more interested in the game and give it some more time.

Yeah,

A] the 2D view takes a couple of hours to really understand, and most F2P players just aren't going to invest that, plus

B] the combat in the beginning of the game is also the least interesting combat, as you don't get the full combat experience until you unlock the more interesting weapons and also start using Transponders.

it has been awhile but yeah it seems like we just need a few new features to attract more people. Ive already got 20ish people to play in my town and a few new players now have a better understanding on how to play. "Those who actually want to learn that is"

I am always attempting to find new things to make that are useful to 8bitmmo players. I was looking into making a really in depth tutorial, but there is no way I can do that unless

A ) sim9 allows us to turn on capital towns or..

B ) Sim9 adds some coding/features that could allow people a bit more depth in quests or town settings.

eg. Let towns have a setting where noobs can place their blocks, but it will remove them after 2 minutes, so you could do some basic homestone/block placing tutorials so noobs know how to set a home, or place blocks.

Honestly, sometimes it is really difficult to make new useful things with what we have now. Sometimes I make semi useful things, like /tele recycle and /tele mail.

Not really. It goes into a bit of detail about bad reviews, but is more about HOW we can GET better reviews.

Basically Setk has it nailed right on the head. I wasn't at all being stereotypical, go look for yourself theirs literally bad reviews with less then 3 words and only 0.1 time on it which I could have sworn Steam made players have to play at least 0.5 to write a review. At any rate I was trying to see if there could be a way everyone could work together to teach new players, help everyone out, show off our talents, and turn at least a few bad reviewers around.

In all of this commotion, I thought that there was a forum that promised us to let us build dungeons for Root. And it's been a year since I last saw it. Maybe bring it back up? And this time, please supply us with rewardblocks... just saying.

IF robby did supply the rewardblock ( i dont think he should for so many reasons) he would have to supply it AFTER you build the dungeon and even then he would not give it to you :P cuz some players might just pick the rewardblock up and dump the dungeon. But seriously GET UR OWN DANG REWARDLBOCK.
