This guide covers how to obtain and use prepaid Mastercard and presumably Visa for online purchases for 8bitmmo.

MEGA SUPER IMPORTANT NOTE!!! Purchase of and use of a prepaid card is entirely up to you. I can NOT make any kind of guarantee that the card you obtain and use will indeed work. This is simply a guide created to answer and help with any questions you might have regarding this form of payment.

As of this posting Stripe does accept prepaid Mastercard and presumably Visa as well. I have personally only used Mastercard so I can't say for sure about Visa although it says it accepts both. You can get them in different amounts and they would look something like this.

You can pick them up in many stores. If there is a Gamestop or EBgames near you they probably carry them for sure. If not try the nearest whatever store.

Just pick or ask for the amount you want to get and pay for it. They must be activated by the cashier and a small activation fee will probably be included. *Be sure to ask about the activation fee if you are unsure.*

Once the card is activated it should be ready to use almost immediately although I think it says a 24 hour period might be needed. I was able to use mine when I got home.

When you are ready to use your card carefully open the package. Inside will probably be a paper that says blahblahblah how to use blahblahblah and definitely your card. It will probably look nothing like this one but close to it.

At this point you should have your card and it should be ready to use.

As stated above this is just a guide is to help you obtain platinum for the best game ever 8bitmmo.

The best way to do this is to be logged into the game.

From the game menu select "Get Gold" A window should pop up showing the different packages you can buy. Select the amount you want to get and a new window will appear with different payment options. In this case we are using Google Wallet. So next to that select buy or gift. At this point If you are not signed up for, or logged into Google. You will have to go through those steps on your own.

Assuming that you have signed up and are logged into Google witch it might do automatically depending on your settings. You should come to a screen that asks you for your card data and other required data. ( Note ) I was going to include a detailed screenshot but I can't get that screen anymore since I already filled out all the data. It should be pretty straight forward at this point anyway.

You will obviously need you card # witch is the large bold #### #### #### ####. Spaces may or may not be needed.

Expiration date. ## / ##

Security code CVC. This is typically a three digit # found on the back of your card in a small box.

The rest of the data needed would be Address and mailing info.

Once all the required data is filled out properly you should be able to make your purchase.

( IMPORTANT NOTE ) Your card MIGHT not have the full amount due to the activation fee, possibly exchange rates, or taxes. I do not know for sure how or if that all factors in. You can attempt to get the maximum amount. If you do and it fails you can try again or just move to the lower amount and try. If that doesn't work then you will have to take it upon yourself to figure out what may be wrong.

At this point assuming all data and info is accurate and your card had the amount needed. your purchase should go through

Good guide!  One thing to note is that when you use a debit card online, there is a preauthorization of $1 that is charged on the card (and refunded about a week later) before the transaction is run.  So if you are using a debit card online, get one that is at least $1 more than the value you want to spend.

Regarding activation fees, I think some of the cards can be 'topped up' with cash, so that might be a good way to limit activation fees.

Prepaid cards usually have monthly maintenance inactivity fees, so I recommend you spend your balance within six months, or at least buy something every few months with them.  See the card terms & conditions for details.
