A few players recently snuck into the =67 tutorial map and begun building there -- since this area isn't really supposed to exist outside the tutorial room and could only be reached through some tricks, a number of players complained this wasn't fair, so I've since locked building on =67 and wiped that map.

The question this raises to me is whether there's a need for another new map or not.  I think =66 still has a lot of empty space in it.  But maybe people would prefer a totally empty area to build in?  If so, should we do phased landrush access, similar to how we did the Mega fundraiser last year?  Or do we have enough building space already with the existing maps?

First! *gets shot*

I kinda liked the spaces as it were. Only problem might be the amount of ghost towns. But it seems a never ending tricky business tackling how to deal with them.

Personally I think the space we have now with 66, 67 and pocket space is more than enough.

Leaning perhaps over to some pocket space expansion plans... I'm thinking what about changing the way town expand works in pocket universes only, since its some ones personal space, it's NOT taking up a part of the map which is shared. So would it make sense to fix the rate expansions cost when outside world 66 and 67. In that the plat costs wont increase yet the size can say?

=66 is sufficient. There is a ton of empty space on it if you do a little waterwalking. The only reason players wanted to build on =67 was to feel unique, like it was their little secret. That said, it would be a GREAT idea to have another fundraiser of sorts. The last one was quite the success, and brought in some decent funding for the game. If not over a new map, maybe something else.

I think we should have one, but with a new idea. If you have played for say, over a year, you get a free portion of the new map all to yourself. A nation, if you will. You could put towns in it and let people be mayors (lords?) And you be the king of the nation.

Just my two pence to help keep players, well... playing.
I think as it's a nation you can set if people can build in your wilderness, and have full rights over said wilderness.
And, maybe, the king could have full power over his towns, mayor or not, BUT IS THE ONLY ONE ABLE TO PLACE THE TOWNSTONES! to prevent issues

Edit: got this idea from re-reading eragon.

I gave you all a warning that the map would be wiped two days ago. I have a spare red sword if you want it.

Me and the Meep warned everyone the moment it was discovered. Anyway glad it's been dealt with.

You warned us, but we didn't listen.

I filled it with sand, the sand went to my inventory and now the sand is filling up three regions of pp2's town (in muh plot)

Okay, I feel my idea is getting buried here. :(

And get back on to the question, it's more important. :)

Wait...If you wiped the tutorial area doesn't that mean there is no tutorial?

Personally, I think it would be better to have a massive cleanup of the junk (as defined by the restrictions placed on the mods' "cleanup" ability) of =65 rather than opening up a whole new map because people don't go looking for an empty space and just complain that "The wilderness is full". As a side note, I can now check "Travel to =67" off my 8bit bucket list. I didn't know that that was where the tutorial area was.

I would say that the thing should be for lvl 2-5

the level 5s would lose access and rage. It's unfair and me and the other lvl 6s. Get your priorities straight.

I agree with this. I spend all my time (when I actually remember to play) In =65 and it's far from full. Also Having a map to look at would make it a little easier to find empty spaces, I know a new system is being worked on. :D can't wait for it.

I am not the only one that cleans junk in the wild however I am the one that does it the most. 95% of the cleaning is done by me. The world is vast and I don't have the time to go over the whole map let alone multiple. I don't even try to clean map66 and I'm pretty sure no one cleans potato server.  There is too much restriction on what we can remove. I have requested tools that would help speed up the cleaning but it still comes down to just me. Before anyone says there should be a system that does it... there is no way for the system to tell what is junk or not. It would have to be one of the most epic AI systems out there.

New map? Дa!

Level restriction? Not a bad idea.

Another fundraiser where the players swimming in their credit card debts spam the town full of townstones maggot farming style before the rest can even visit it? нет!

i agree with this, the wilderness is no where near full, and if sim9 implements a town removal for 2012 towns, there will be even more room.

grim sounds like he needs help, i think this is an approptiate time to bring back the discussion about making a group of semi-mods to help police chat and cleanup the wilderness

Your work is much appreciated Grim, and my idea only looks good when written out. Realistically, even if every mod came online for one great purge of the junk, there is no way I would expect you guys to go through and check every one of the 40,000 regions of =65. Despite that, I also know from my wanderings that =66 is also nowhere near full. Most of the area around the entrance to =66 from Root has been claimed, but it doesn't seem like people are putting any effort in to find an empty space if they really want one.

Swords are sold along with all other non-plat blocks in a /sellallinv. And originally your sword disappeared because for some reason swords seem to be chosen to display as one of the last items when the 500 blocks in inv limits kicks in.

i agree with this, the wilderness is no where near full, and if sim9 implements a town removal for 2012 towns, there will be even more room.

I own several 2012 towns. Date founded is not a valid criteria for town removal -_-

It's almost like you resent us. There's plenty of space left you know, even now. You just have to actually bother to look.

In answer to the actual topic, I think the problem with =66 is the difficulty in getting anywhere, and then establishing a safe zone to build in. Especially now hipsters attack way faster, it's virtually impossible to run past one without taking damage. And there's the fact that much of the map is water and so a nightmare to traverse. This means, as much of the space easily accessible has been taken, the map seems more full than it is.
