Would it be possible to add you as a VM rather than towntransfer the town to register it in the PHMS?
The issue is that the point of towntransferring the town is to prevent you from actually selling the town off / demolishing it, etc. I suppose it would work if you were to make a deposit to the PHMS when registering your town to say "I don't want to hand over my town, so I agree to listen to the PHMS and give vice mayor so that I do not feel tempted to destroy structures in it / the town." Although, we can't guarantee that you'd stick to your word... I'll think of some ways to try to make vice mayor a viable alternative, since I know a towntransfer is a little bit worrying.
Honestly, I also think it should only be vice mayor... Only if the player is quitting, I think the town should get transferred. Plus, I would like to become a member.... to look for old structures. I remember someone building an awesome jet plane but it was protected by a townstone...
But then the owner would have to register it.

Policy Update: Registration and Direction
As we've been asked about an alternative to the towntransfer system, as this is quite a daunting task and will hold the PHMS' growth back, the PHMS has decided to change its purpose. Although the name and acronym will not change, we will now be focused on preserving the spirit of the old monuments and yada yada yada. This means that we no longer require a towntransfer, as we will focus on the following:
We will provide telepad access to "historics" (historic towns, monuments, and structures) in our ever-expanding telepad hub, trying as best as possible to provide the telepads.
We will act as advisors to towns that are linked to from the PHMS, recommending whether a course of action is advisable or not. Vice Mayor may be a common way to assist us in this task or to denote this advisory, but is not required.
We will search for monuments, towns, and structures that should be linked to by the PHMS (search members, as opposed to donor members).
Historic towns which are demolished or are no longer, at the president's own discrete opinion, "historic", may be removed from the PHMS' assistance.
The PHMS will support the developers of historic towns, monuments, and structures by providing a 2,000 gold fixed payment every month for each town, monument, and structure under the assistance of the PHMS. This gold does not need to be forfeited if your town is removed, but the money will no longer be provided. (This is only possible if you find me online at any point each month - payments will not carry over.)
Registration is still a course of action if you believe you own/built a historic, however, as search members will not be able to find all historics, and so registering will speed up our task.
