Short answer: No
Long answer: Yes
Also you need to add a no section to each part of the poll because you have to vote in each one, also I'm pretty sure Mods can already ban people from IRC

Pssssst, the second yes in the last part actually means no

Mods can actually already ban people on the Forums (warning points) and the IRC chat (kicking). So the second question is somewhat un-needed. It just turns out that for the most part neither of these places are the main source of troublemakers. IRC more-so than the Forums, but they're still pretty rare in both places compared to the actual game.

I actually agree with mods being able to ban players. Especially since RobbyZ is working on other games, and won't be around as often to fix problems. I would like to make some rules regarding this and see what you guys think (the people who have to trust us):

1.) The mod issuing the ban MUST somehow prove what they did was justified to sim9. Either through IRC Logs, Screenshots, and/or other players (this would be the last priority as others can lie). Perhaps sim can figure out a way to instantly get an email/message sent to him when a ban occurs?

2.) If the troublemaker can be punished with a simple mute, only issue a mute. A ban is serious business, and should only be issued if there is no other way to deal with the problem. Banning spammers and people cussing like a sailor seems pointless when you can just shut them up :lol!:

3.) The mod issuing the ban should ask for a second opinion from another mod. We're a team after all, so if any one of us does something sketchy, it makes all of us look bad. If the person is doing something to you personally, you may also not be emotionally stable enough to make that decision on your own.

Does this seem fair? I honestly don't think giving mods the power to ban is that big of deal to tell the truth. Hardly ever would we actually need to do more than mute someone. But it does put a little more fear into players who know they are being jerks. And this could only be a good thing for the rest of us.

Still doing the hand thing.

I think Sage made a good point, with RobbyZ being busy with other games it may be neccessary for Mods to be able to ban. However, I think they should only be able to ban for 2 weeks at the most (since a 2-week ban is the usual punishment for speedhacking and botting I think). Also I perhaps You should have bans be put to a vote. Like say you need at least 3 mods to agree that a certain player should be banned, and perhaps add an option for a mod to vote against the ban. That could prevent unnecessary banning or "Meeping without reason".
Tl;dr: read it anyways you lazy butt

Now these here are some nice ideas. Good job, guys. By the way, Kral, I think you mean Sage and not Kyro.

I think Sage's system is a valid way to do it.

I was unable to vote because of #4.

Mods should not have the ability to ban players. Banning players is Sim's job and he already hardly bans players.

Botting is the most common reason fo people to get a ban in witch case mods should be able to kick the player from the game for an hour at least.
