Why do people hate 8bitmmo so much, and what makes us like it?

We could have a shirt editor that would cost plat to make it possible avoid "rude things" but this wouldn't be 100% gurantee of getting rid of "rude things"

it shouldn't cost plat

But mods should be able to ban for inappropriate shirts.

They should be verified before creation

or maybe sim9 can remove all shirts so everyone will be naked and finally realize how grateful they should be that we have a fair amount of shirts already. instead of character customization sim should just add a few more new shirts. if we could customize our own shirts then octoberbit custom shirts would be pointless :( (luckily no one made a shirt for their october bit item)

note: dont post on threads that have not been posted in for over a week unless they are pinned or still relevant (this thread is no longer relevant) this act is called reviving and is not good

Yeah, the steam forums right now are getting super toxic again.  Lot of negative comments from people who haven't even launched the game yet.  Ugh.

so many negative reviews because muh microtransactions, but there are a lot of positive reviews.

Most of the negative reviews are from people with less than 3 hours played.

microtransaction hate, because its perfectly reasonable to expect someone whose sole source of income is this game to make it completely 100% free, its already free to play how greedy are you @#%ing bastards

ive played the game for 0.1 hours, but trust me i know everything there is to know about this game, and every single possible thing in it is complete @#$%, becasue im an expert on everything

its ok robby, %99 havent even played the game and are just trying to go with the flow of the other comment, they dont know that they are actually missing out on an awesome game :D they just follow the other negative reviews without bothering to rate the game themselves so dont listen to them, 8bitmmo is amazing :D

Honestly this is my opinion so don't count it as a fact.

Since I started back when it was a few months before steam beta release at first I too thought, why am I playing this? Its just a poor version of Minecraft (which you will hear a lot even now). But then after I built my first town because screw it I had the money, I realized it wasn't about what the game had it was what it didn't that made it great. A good comparison is a kid playing with a cardboard box, rich kids never did that because everything is handed to them much like games today which tends to make them boring and more so as newer games feel force fed. At the time there weren't any color plastic blocks, there went any cake blocks or blocks with gifs that RobbyZ has now. You literally made due with what you had and the best part is that you had others that enjoyed doing the same thing.

Not only that but it makes getting new content that much more exiting. Today on steam if you don't get content within the end of the month you get flamed and I've seen a lot of games flamed for far less. Steam where anyone and I mean "ANYONE" can voice an opinion about a game. I met some really rude people playing other MMO's where you had to pay to play and no I'm not stating 8BitMMO is a P2P. I mean some of the rudest people, which is why I hardly ever play MMO's anymore because they don't make it about >players< they make it about a >player< and it's not you it's someone who spent a lot of money or is best friends with the developer or just doesn't have a life.

That's when I realized something about this game. I don't know if it was intended by RobbyZ but the game I was playing was about me and people around me. It literally was about meeting real people with no major goals or objectives, just people looking to have a good time, people who were extremely into old NES graphics and building. But not only that, I found that the game showed me and others to make due with what you got by building arenas, starting clans, making up events to pass time.

In short 8BitMMO at first glance seemed like a waste of time but man was I glad I gave it a little longer to find a lot of meaning, an awesome community of people, and a place I could share and show my creativity.

Sorry thats like a wall of text in your face but heres a picture to make up for it

You said it sir! Plus I think it's Pay 2 Win but okay.  And one of the best things I remember about the game in my anniversary was the time I was RP with my friends and slaying a dragon (not Draco, just a normal, fierce dragon)

lol well like I said its mostly about the community and its kind of like the country of MMO's where its a small town everyone knows everyone, and we all have a good time. I feel people need to understand its not a MMO about leveling up and winning, its a MMO about building a small community, making small events and get togethers.

Just the other day in Noobis I made a cute post office where people in my town can post messages to me or to other players. Thats freakin creative right? So no this game doesn't have polish, its not a FPS that aims and kills other players mindlessly, it requires time to learn and to understand why others like it.

I don't need a fancy graphics game with a brain dead story line and a goal thats either impossible or to dang easy. For real when was the last time someone made a really good all around game. Polish, Graphics, Music, Genre enhancing, Story heavy. For me it was Final Fantasy 7 and 8 (just hated 8's weird combat)

With 8BitMMO the story is what you want it to be, the community you build is like a simulation game and gives new players a chance to learn, you can make small things like the a post office, and the best part is you can do that all now for free using a pocket stone.

Though on the flip side it would be nice to have more mobs, and weapon types. If later on we have a lot of mobs I'd love to see rare drops you cant buy in the store so you can sell them to other players.
