Has anyone else noticed the Steam and/or standalone client creating a folder on their desktop called "%System_Drive%" or similar?

This happens each time I launch either client and the folder can only be deleted after the client task and it's Internet Explorer task have been terminated.

What operating system are you using?

I think this is to do with your system PATH not being set correctly.

Never seen this before -- it should be making data in %APPDATA%\8BitMMO, and nowhere else (on linux/mac it writes to your home folder\.8bitmmo)

Sorry to raise this thread from the grave but, I don't see a clear answer & I just had this happen too, only the folder mysteriously popping up on my desktop is %SystemDrive%,

%SystemDrive% > ProgramData > Microsoft > Windows > Caches, there are 3 Data Base Files in Caches.

I'm using the steam client.

So I currently have 3 questions.

1: Why is it creating a SystemDrive folder on my desktop?

2: Should I be concerned about it?

3: Is there a fix? (I assume from the replies here that this shouldn't be happening.)

Don't bump this ancient thread.

Rude posts. This guy found someone experiencing the same issue as they are, and are trying to get assistance with their problem (they have a single post). Let them do so in peace. Only Sim should make a post in this thread (or someone who may know a fix). There's taking enforcement of forum laws a little too far.

2: Should I be concerned about it?

No, probably not. 8BitMMO is completely safe.

Still doing the hand thing.

My bad, I didn't see him say "Sorry for raising this from the grave"
