I need help with "Oops! A download error ocurred" error

Best Answer alan900900900 , 15 July 2014 - 11:35 PM

All right... I was following the stuff on the image, and then it just started to work by itself.

Then I tried it normally (not in logging mode) and it still worked.

It may have been an error on my Internet connection, since before starting up it downloaded some updates.

Still, thanks for your help!

I just downloaded 8bitMMO on Steam, made my account, and tried to start playing, but after I select either server, this message pops up:33m5ytu.png

Along with a "Try Again" button below. If I click on the button, then the same message pops up. I've already tried to uninstall and reinstall the game, but the same thing happens.

(BTW this is my first post, sorry if there's something wrong. I'm a newbie)

When game is launched, only a black screen is shown

This can happen when certain overlays interfere with the game. Try turning off Mumble Overlay, teamspeak overlays, or anything else that would interfere with rendering.

Steam overlay DOES work though, so feel free to leave that on :)

Also:

Try disabling antivirus, firewall, or content filters.

If that fails, close launcher and verify game integrity cache.

If that fails, close launcher, delete %APPDATA%\8BitMMO, restart, and then relaunch from Steam
