When a player types a message while they are muted, they should be told that they are muted. You can see people in #8bit-gamewatch talking to themselves and not getting and replies because they're muted.

And I think if someone gets muted because they swore while in the tutorial, they should be warned and the mute should be lifted after 2 hours or something.

If you ever watch the IRC you'll notice [MUTED] is before their name when they speak. The same thing happens when you're a [ZOMBIE], [POTATO], or [LINEAR FUNCTION]. When someone speaks in-game it takes the form of Potato Sage: ..., Zombie Sage: mrmmm brai, Linear Function Sage: maths. Why couldn't we simply have it do Muted Sage: ... or something? Obviously with no one else being able to see it (to cut on spam).

Still doing the hand thing.

I think it already shows in IRC.

I just think that the user should be told in game that they are muted

No one should be told they're muted or a troll will just make another account and start spamming.

But they usually are told they're muted. Either by people who are on IRC, and their name is being dinged by the muted person, or the mods tell them.

Sim has it the way he has it for a reason. We don't want them to know that they are muted because the can just easily get on another account to start their spam etc. When a mod mutes someone, most of the time they are told. But, if someone is spamming, cursing or doing something they aren't supposed to, then they won't be told they're muted unless they ask. Lets say that player1 starts spamming, he then gets muted for spamming and the game tells him that, after that he makes another account to spam again. Now he spams all day by making new accounts and it's at a time that sim isn't on. Tell me, what can the mods do? They mute him, he makes another account. It will go on until sim bans the player, which may take a while or a short amount of time.

I sort of agree with that.

But what about some new player joins, they don't know you're not allowed to swear and they say "lol this game is f****** awesome!". They don't know they're muted and they think everyone is ignoring them.

Maybe to combat multiple accounts you could limit an IP address to making 1 account every 48 hours or something.

Or limit 1 IP address to 2 accounts, full stop.

I think auto-troll for swearing should probably tell a person, given the hit-or-miss situation with it. Other than that, no automatic inform.

Hermit actually had a post, and Robby marked it as answered. Now its gone.

No... Sim had marked this post as answered:

As you can see, that's trololo's.

Yes, but what he had marked solved was different to what he said. Also, no one remembers hermit posting here.
