capital city... still exists?

never before in 8bitmmo have i encountered a capital city yet today, i heard chris_ramos and Animus gigas fighting over something about not being able to remove each others blocks even though chris was official and animus was mayor (its a pockettown) so i asked to be citizen and i teleported myself over and i was given official and i couldn't remove the blocks, so i did /towninfo and i saw this

but it was solved with /townpvp on but im just wondering if anyone else has info on these "capital cities" cuz im intrigued and im wondering why i haven't seen em before

if i remember correctly this has happened before with a seemingly random town as well, and im pretty sure xerp won a "capital city" for something, social club constest maybe, and left a publicpad there and people started building before it got removed.  even origin is not longer a capital city to prevent it from being trolled.  

im pretty sure sim9 has the ability to make towns capitals and vise-versa, but im curious as to why some towns are capitals when they are created.

I bought one from Trololo, I can't remember who I sold it to.

Not sure anyone will remember when my town was a capital city.

 

For a time anyone could place blocks there, but turning pvp on and off changed it back into a town.

i did a 8bit of research and apparently when towns first came out every region was one of these 3: 1. capital city- no pvp, you can build in any unclaimed area and can't mess with other people's creations. 2. player city- limited pvp (only citizens can cause dmg) any citizen can modify any block but non citizens can do nothing 3.wilderness - Full PvP.  For now, blocks in wilderness are safe from griefing, but later on this will likely change.  Monsters spawn. but it seems like since the release of towns the "player city" towns have changed a lot and now days capital cities are lost i think.

nope, it used to be but if you ever did /towninfo it doesn't say capital city. also when i first discovered capital city i thought it was normal for pockettowns and i just hadn't noticed it before but i checked my pockettown and it wasn't a capital city, then i checked some other towns to see if they were and they weren't. but it seems like capital cities can get reversed with /townpvp (command)

I wish select people were allowed to have capital cities, if I got one, I would make a tutorial, that requires you to build and place a homestone, and some other wacky stuff, to finish it.

Basically, its like the wilderness, but mayor can remove blocks.

actually about mayors removing blocks the mayor of the capital city in the top could not remove the officials blocks so basically it is the wilderness :/

Oh I guess I was originally misinformed, I was told that in capital cities, only the mayor could remove blocks, and anyone could build in it.

I guess if we had the option to change pvp to "capital" we would be able to change it to normal, remove blocks, and set it to capital again lol

Read the op and other posts. Is there any saying the mayor can remove blocks?

Capital cities are the new ghost doors   I thought I made it impossible for them to exist a while back, but I guess they still surface from time to time.
